FAQs

What can I expect in our first session?

Your first full session (after our free 15-minute call) is a 50-minute meeting where we’ll explore what’s brought you to therapy, establish our working agreement, and begin building a safe, trusting relationship.

Do I need a formal recommendation to start therapy?

Not at all. You just need a sense that something feels “off” or that you’d like support exploring your thoughts, feelings, or relationships.

How often and for how long will we meet?

Typically, we meet weekly for 50 minutes. The work can be short-term (a specific focus) or open-ended. We’ll decide together based on your goals and needs.

Is our work confidential?

Yes. I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework, which means everything you share is held in strict confidence, except in rare circumstances (risk of harm) where I’m ethically required to act, but this will be discussed.

How do online sessions work?

We use a secure Zoom link (no special software required), and we’ll meet as if we were in the same room - I’ll help you get settled virtually.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please give 48 hours’ notice to avoid being charged for the session. I understand that emergencies happen, so let me know as soon as you can, and we’ll find another time.

Do you offer reduced-fee spaces?

I hold a small number of reduced-fee slots for those in financial hardship. Please ask during our initial call if you feel this applies to you.

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

Yes, I understand that work and life commitments can make traditional hours difficult. I offer a limited number of weekend and evening slots to accommodate your schedule - please mention your preferred days/times when we chat and I’ll do my best to find a time that works for you.

How do I book?

Start with a free 15-minute phone consultation: click “Book a Free Call” or email me at kate@bridgeandbloomtherapy.co.uk If we both feel it’s a good fit, we’ll schedule your first session.
